Job description:

We are looking for an Economist who will be responsible for organizing and regulating cash circulation in the Republic of Armenia.

Job responsibilities
  • Participate in the drafting and review of legal acts regulating cash circulation in the Republic of Armenia, as well as cash transactions conducted at the Central Bank of Armenia.
  • Study international practices and trends in the field of cash circulation regulation, requirements applicable to cash centers, and other relevant issues, and provide corresponding analyses and recommendations.
  • Monitor the movement of cash between the Central Bank of Armenia and commercial banks resulting from the operations of commercial banks’ cash centers.
  • Organize and manage the process of issuing certificates to cash-in-transit personnel who have obtained professional qualification from the Central Bank, as well as maintain the database of qualified cash-in-transit personnel.
  • Issue and maintain records of Armenian banknote specimens provided to commercial banks operating in the Republic of Armenia, foreign central banks, organizations engaged in the printing of banknotes and related publications, as well as other individuals and legal entities.
  • Monitor the implementation of contracts concluded with cash-in-transit organizations for the transportation of the Central Bank’s valuables, and initiate the preparation of draft contracts to be concluded with cash-in-transit organizations.
Required qualifications
  • Higher education in Economics.
  • Knowledge of the legislative and regulatory framework governing cash circulation and cash operations in the Republic of Armenia.
  • Knowledge of Macroeconomics.
  • Knowledge of Statistics.
  • Knowledge of Accounting.
  • Knowledge of Economic Theory.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with international practices in cash management.
  • Proficiency in English and Russian.
  • Fluency in Armenian.
