Job description:

We are looking for a Metadata Analyst to ensure that the bank’s data ecosystem is well-documented, discoverale, and trusted. This role is essential in supporting data transparency and enabling teams across a 2000+ employee organization to access and understand high-quality metadata assets.

This position supports Ameriabank’s digital-first vision by enabling trusted data foundations for analytics, automation, and next-generabtion fintech solutions.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about building the foundations of strong data governance.


Job responsibilities
  1. Maintain, enhance, and regularly update the enterprise data catalog, business glossary, and technical metadata repositories.
  2. Document and maintain accurate end-to-end data lineage across systems and data flows.
  3. Work closely with Data Owners and technical teams to gather, validate, and continuously improve metadata assets.
  4. Monitor metadata completeness, accuracy, and consistency, ensuring alignment across all data domains.
  5. Contribute to the development and refinement of metadata standards, naming conventions, and documentation practices.
  6. Improve data discoverability and transparency by maintaining clear, searchable, and user-friendly catalog entries.
  7. Support the implementation of metadata policies, ownership frameworks, and stewardship processes.
  8. Collaborate with Data Owners, Data Engineers, BI teams, and Data Quality specialists to expand metadata coverage and elevate overall metadata quality.

Required qualifications
  • 2–3 years of experience in data management, data analysis/BI, data engineering, or data governance.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, with the ability to write and interpret queries (joins, aggregations, filtering) to explore source systems, validate metadata, and trace data lineage.
  • Solid understanding of data structures, data models, and business data domains.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Motivation to grow into advanced metadata and governance responsibilities within a modern fintech environment.
