Job description:
We are looking for a Legal Counsel who will be responsible for providing legal support to the functions of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia related to the licensing and supervision of financial system participants, as well as insolvency (bankruptcy) and liquidation proceedings.The Legal Counsel will also represent and protect the interests of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia before courts in matters related to its supervisory functions and provide legal advice.
Job responsibilities
- Prepare reports on violations committed by entities supervised by the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia (including financial groups) and ensure the full conduct of proceedings concerning the application of liability measures against such entities.
- Represent and protect the interests of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia before courts and other authorities in matters related to the powers exercised by the Central Bank in licensing and supervising the activities of financial system participants.
- Provide legal support in matters related to the supervision of the activities of financial system participants (including financial groups), as well as insolvency (bankruptcy) and liquidation proceedings.
- Provide legal support for the functions of the Central Bank related to the pension system, and draft laws and other normative legal acts related to pension system reforms.
- Participate in inspections conducted by the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia of persons/entities licensed by the Central Bank.
- Prepare and submit statements of claim, objections, and cassation appeals.
Required qualifications
- A university degree in Law
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience
- Advanced knowledge of corporate law
- Advanced knowledge of financial system legislation
- Advanced knowledge of civil law
- Advanced knowledge of civil procedure
- Proficiency in legal software
- Excellent command of Armenian and English, and good command of Russian
