Job description:
AUA Extension is seeking an Arabic Language Instructor to teach Arabic language courses to adult learners.
Job responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver Arabic language lessons according to the course curriculum.
- Teach Arabic at appropriate proficiency levels.
- Develop students' speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
- Prepare engaging classroom activities, exercises, and supplementary learning materials.
- Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate attendance and course-related records.
- Create an interactive, supportive, and learner-centered classroom environment.
- Communicate effectively with students and AUA Extension staff.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet learners' needs and proficiency levels.
Required qualifications
Required Qualifications
- University degree in Arabic Language, Arabic Studies, Linguistics, Education, or a related field.
- Excellent command of Arabic, preferably at C1/C2 level or equivalent.
- Previous experience teaching Arabic as a foreign or second language.
- Strong knowledge of Arabic grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and communication.
- Ability to teach adult learners at different proficiency levels.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use interactive and communicative language-teaching methods.
Additional Qualifications — Considered a Plus
The following qualifications and experience will be considered an advantage:
- Native or near-native proficiency in Arabic;
- Formal qualification in teaching Arabic as a foreign language or an equivalent teaching qualification;
- Knowledge and practical application of CEFR or other recognized language proficiency frameworks;
- Experience teaching Arabic to learners from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds;
- International teaching or academic experience;
- Knowledge of Armenian and English.
