Job description:
The Solution Architect is responsible for designing and governing end-to-end solution architectures that align business objectives, enterprise architecture principles, and technology standards.
The role ensures that solutions are coherent, scalable, secure, and sustainable, bridging product delivery teams with Enterprise Architecture and technology platforms.
The Solution Architect operates at the solution level, translating enterprise architecture guidance into implementable designs while supporting delivery teams throughout the lifecycle.
Job responsibilities
1. Solution Architecture Design
• Design end-to-end solution architectures across business, application, data, and technology domains.
• Produce architecture deliverables including:
- Solution architecture diagrams
- Integration designs
- Data flow models
- Non-functional architecture definitions
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise principles, target architectures, and platform strategies.
2. Architecture Governance & Compliance
• Participate in architecture reviews and governance processes.
• Ensure solutions comply with:
- Enterprise Architecture standards
- Security and risk requirements
- Regulatory and compliance constraints
• Identify architectural risks, trade-offs, and technical debt.
3. Collaboration with Delivery Teams
- Work closely with Product Owners, Tech Leads, and Engineers to guide implementation.
- Support backlog refinement from an architectural perspective.
- Provide architectural guidance during design, development, and deployment phases.
4. Integration & Ecosystem Design
- Define service boundaries, APIs, and integration patterns.
- Ensure proper use of shared platforms (IAM, Observability, ConfigHub, Notification Platform, etc.).
- Promote reuse of existing architectural building blocks.
5. Non-Functional Architecture
• Define and validate:
- Performance and scalability requirements
- Reliability and resilience patterns
- Security and access models
- Observability and monitoring approaches
• Ensure alignment with enterprise SLO/SLA expectations.
6. Technology Evaluation & Decision Support
- Evaluate solution options and technology choices.
- Provide architecture input into build vs buy decisions.
- Support financial and risk assessments related to architecture decisions.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science is preferred
- Strong experience in solution architecture or senior engineering roles.
- Understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and integration patterns.
- Knowledge of modern architecture practices (microservices, event-driven, cloud/on-prem hybrid).
- Familiarity with architecture frameworks (TOGAF or similar).
- In-depth understanding of coding languages
- Sound knowledge of various operating systems and databases
- Ability to communicate complex architecture concepts to technical and business stakeholders.
- architectural modeling skills using formal notations (e.g., ArchiMate, C4, UML) to design and communicate solution architectures.
